I have been using a Sirius stratus for years on several different bikes and have the antenna mounted under the fairing on the radio and the unit mounted on the bars with a waterproof cover and I never loose a signal I live in middle Georgia. this is a
car type radio but it works great.

Rode all day today. Other than open highway will lose signal under every tree even if not overhead just on sides of roads. This makes the XM all but useless for me. I use everyday in car down same roads and works perfect.
Harley has to know this and still sells it for big money. WTF!!!

Just installed xm module on my 2014 limited. Easy to install. Antenna and module under the fairing. I'm a subscriber, but called siriusxm and told them the dealer told me I get 3 months free. After sxm checking with their supervisor I finally got the 3 months free. I got a great signal yesterday out riding for an hour, never lost the signal. I even get a decent signal with bike near the door in my garage. Out snowing here in Jersey now with salt getting put down on the roads, once it clears out riding and testing xm hopefully b4 the 3 months is up? Remember the 3 months free!

New antenna location
I finally found the antenna from my old truck XM install. The connector is not the same. The Harley XM antenna is long enough that I moved the end piece up to the top of the inner fairing, on the opposite side from the vent button. I trimmed a very small notch on the front side of the piece it sits on so the antenna wire would not get pinched by the windshield. It started snowing as I finished the change so I didn't take a long ride. Since the trees have all lost their leaves now, I don't know if the move is a benefit or not. It is not worse than it was.

A little advice from a former XM user when your subscription comes up ask for a better deal they will deal with you. I use to get them to cut there price in half sometimes I would have to threaten to drop them but they will cut your price. Personally I am a Pandora lover much better no commercials if you pay the $3 a month. I subscribed to XM for over 10 years...
