You know I looked for promoter at two stores and then gave up. I washed the area with soap and water, then cleaned with alcohol, and then let dry. I then applied the lights which had 3m tape on them according to the package and the protective tape. As far as trying anything special to get the light to stick to the back side of the AC, no. Once I removed the protective tape and tried to stick it to the backing plate and it did not work I tried to stick it to the bottom of the TB where the serial number is but by that time there was not much sticky left. So I tossed it in the trash and decided I would install the heat shields later on the mid frame and when I do I'll put a strip on the back of each one to shine on the lower motor area.

You have to take your finger nail and scratch the protective lining on the tape to activate the adhesive properties in the 3M tape. Most people don't but that's what I did with the same lights you have and they stuck without any problems no matter where I put them.

Looks great and you did save a lot of money. I have a full LED set on my M109R. A few strips started coming unglued. So I went to Home Depot and bought 3m liquid electrical tape. You just brush it on the strip put it in place. Hold it for a minute and done. I haven't had them come loose again.
