How's powder coating hold up (cracking) on wheels when tires are mounted and dismounted? Any special handling? I'd be concerned when a bar was inserted and rolled over to pop the bead and then dragged rotated to lift the rest of the bead free.
they hold up great! i have done prob 300+ mounts and unmounts and never had an issue on our powder work.... also the guide should not touch the rim, come close, but not actually touch it.
We ahve a tire machine in house and balance with dyna beads to make things easier on our customers. this way we can do the wheels, coating, and take care of the mount and balance/bearing work all in one spot
Here I am minding my own business with no intention of doing any work on the SG and you guys have to come up with this! Great looking bike Gordy! I will be contacting JRK after the first of the year!
Never looked at powder coat up close, and here are my questions. Will the bead of the tire seal up to a powder coated wheels? Do you powder coat the entire wheel(inside where the tire will cover up after installed)?
no issues at all with tire seal, some wheels get completely coated while others do not need to be. really depends on what type of style we are coating. take a moment and shoot through our wheel gallery there are a ton of pictures in there.
