Met with my engine guy today, he sated he wanted to go with Andrews 408 cams, and Wiseco 107 pistons.
He stated this will fit in with the work he has already completed with my heads.
If those are TW-408-6 cams with 10.5+ compression and matched heads It ought to rock! Good Luck!
A 2:1:2 will give you that look and the power. The Thundermax is the Cadillac Cimarron of tuners.....There are much, much better options.
I like your quote, that's funny, but in reality I already have $800 bucks in the tuner.
I put auto ACR's in the heads when I had it ported, so that's not an issue.
I believe they are TW-408's I'm just a motorhead dummy!
I'd like more information on the 2:1:2 exhaust, interesting.
A 2:1:2 has a crossover like the factory system. Jackpot makes a ceramic-coated stainless steel header that's a work of art. That'll help keep your power band to the left of the curve, and still perform on the right side.
...... I an a traditional looking guy, I don't like the look of the 2 into 1 exhaust look, I know it's a better output, but I'm a little old skool, and have to give a little in performance!!!
Historically, traditionally, Harley used a 2-into-1 long before they went to 2-1-2. Jus' sayin'.......
Not sure I've read one good post on the SE lifters, I would highly stay away from those. I think I have them in my current engine and plan to replace them with the woods lifters I have in my other engine.
If you haven't bought the cams yet why not go with some that have been tried and true in 107's? Have you looked at the Fuel Moto web site and checked out the dyno numbers from there 107 set up, normally with woods 555 or 777's.
Polishing the 50mm throttle body will give you very little performance gains, I guess it would depend on the cost to have it done if it would be worth it.

Thundermax is OK, just not my choice as I don't see anything wrong with a properly tuned stock ecm. But there are those who like the Thundermax autotune feature.
ARCs are great!
There are two TW-408 cams, bolt in 44 and hot 6. 44 would not be a good choice but the 6 could rock! May be noisy with .650 lift? Roller rocker territory. Some intake porting may be in order with that cam combo. http://www.fuelmotousa.com/harley/en.../tw-408-6.html
Factory 2-1-2 showed up on the '09 tourers. Fuelmoto, Fullsack, Vance&Hines have excellent performing 2-1-2 (X) headers.

Well I will have a little extra change in my pocket come January, with that said, I'm thinking about going from a 2009 96 to a 107.
currently I have already had my heads worked on to 10.1. polished and ported.
Ventilator air cleaner.
T-Max
Adjustable pushrods.
Rineharts true duals, with 3-1/2 pipes.
SE 255 Cam.
So here is what I want,
SE 259 cams.
SE 107 flat top pistons.
The guys who did my heads will bore the cylinders to 107.
This is my question I don't know about.
Will I need to get different injectors for the 107?
Will polishing the 50MM TB be worth the cost?
And how bout those SE Lifters? will that make a difference?
I would stay under .600 lift and below 46 degrees overlap and 104 or lower center line. Also make sure springs are upto the job. Minimum of .585 springs. I would also change lifters. I have used the Woods Directional several times and quite as stock or more quite than some. The 255's don't like compression ratios of 10:1. 10.5:1 would be as high as I would go. 10.25:1 maybe even better. Probably won't see a difference. The 259E cams are under rated. I have seen several in the stage 4 kits and they ran strong. I would go with TW 888's or 777. There are plenty of choices out there. AS far as injectors the 5.3's would work or the 4.9's. With the 50MM TB it probably won't need them. I think it will work fine with the stock 4.3's. If it doesn't you can change them later. Don't know anything about the Thundermax. I have built maps for a FM 107 with level B heads and TW777 in streetglide and it is awesome. He used the stock TB and injectors.
Any more than this and you are going to have issues with clutch and possibly crank stuff. Over 115 hp and you can look forward to issues. I know there are lots that have way more than this that will challenge that statement.
Gee, don't know what to say!
Lots of great information posted here, I just want to thank each and everyone of you for taking the time to give your opinion.
Again thanks all, my motor guy and I are going to have a conversation today about these otions.
He is a respected motor builder in Central Indiana, knows what he is doing.
Well, my builder send me the TW-408-6 cams today.
decked the heads to go with the pistons.
New pistons still on order, he is not done with the boring either
Now I will start to put it back together, cams first.
Putting woods lifters back in too!

Nice! Keep us posted. Would love a dyno sheet but know we won't get one since ya have the Thundermax.
