I'm not sure I agree that you can't do it. The left side muffler gets about thirty percent of the exhaust flow anyway so if you had a four inch muffler it could work. It would be worth trying.
You cant do that. I dont know how much people realize this but building an exhaust system is an art and a science. an exhaust is just not a pipe bent to follow the lines of the bike. On a single sided exhaust u will notice that the diameter of the muffler is bigger than the 2 muffler system. there is a reason for this. Its all about flow and exhaust waves. Ask a guy like Jamie at fuel moto about this.
Exactly - S&S, V&H, FuelMoto and HD have all engineered their headers and other parts for optimum performance and when you start cutting out cats, closing off pipes etc. unless you have access to the equipment they use for exhaust flow and dyno testing you're really not going to end up with anything that is going to improve the performance, and will probably decrease it.
If there is a way to do it and make it work the way a 2-1 should I promise you will like it. I run a V and H pro pipe and the performance is a noticeable difference on the low end torque over a duel set up.
