Is this the setback that I am looking for to get the bars closer to her? And, how is this measured?
Take a look at the Chubby's 508. It has a 16" pullback and is only 32" wide. I had them on my old RK and found them to be the most comfortable bars ever. (I'm only 5' 9") I am in the process of looking for a similar bar for my batwing, but am having little luck. Check out their site and it will answer your questions as to how to measure bars.

Thanks everyone for the great feedback and tips. It's time for the OL to look at some bars and see what style she likes. Then we can figure out what size.

I also believe the buckhorn handlebars would work for what you want to achieve.

I just went through this process myself (and it IS a process, if done correctly).

My best advice to you is this: "Measure twice. Cut once."

Ergonomically speaking, ideal positioning places your wrists above your elbows, and your elbows below your shoulders.

In other words, do your homework:

If you're doing the job yourself, then all it costs is your time; but if you're having an indy or dealer do the job, then it can get expensive.

Remember, you only want to do this once!

Another thing that is critical is the wrist angel...

        +1

Find a bar with a neutral wrist angle.
