Welcome ...

I have made the transition from street to touring ... at some point you will get over it.

Regardless of what people say ... the touring bikes do not compete with the performace of bikes the the VRod ... (* sure $20k later u can make some monster ... but still not the same *)

welcome, and you,re gonna love the sg. I left a 800cc suzuki. tried out a sg and was amazed at how nimble it was. My first thought when I sat on it was, man, this dang thing is to heavy and to wide for me. rode it, and bought it.
kroozeabout.

T.Sawer, I'm in the exact same boat--trading in my Suzi Boulevard M50, waiting for my 2014 SG to arrive at my dealer. I had/have the exact same feeling you had--this thing is way heavier than my Boulevard, it's really wide, I can't flat foot, etc. So you're saying I'm gonna get used to it?

Thanks you all.

I've been on superbikes for a number of years and the Sporty was my first Harley. Thing is, having a 3yr old, I can't think of anything better than swinging him on the back and going for a ride. He loves cruising on the Sporty but having ripped out the baffles, it's just too damn loud.

There will be another Sporty in my near future. He he he

Scorp…Welcome to the long road. Lots of guys have changed from sport bikes and Sportsters to road bikes.

I heard the expression to explain that Sport bikes are fun to ride fast, but not so much to ride slow or long.

Harley Touring bikes are great fun to ride slow (up to 80 mph) but not so much faster.

Enjoy your new ride!

Love the picture of you and your Son. Kinda puts things into perspective.

So I guess the point of the post is just to say, Hi.
Hey Scorp.......I did the same. Traded my Fatboy for a 2013 (new) Street Glide, I could not be happier with my choice. You will love the Glide. BTW the new name (at least to me) for a Street Glide is....ME Too....cause everyone has one now cause they are a great scoot.
