getting two different answers on the torque specs.for my compensator bolt on a 12 streetglide. two dealers say the updated spec. is 160 lbs. and two other dealers say 140 lbs. anyone know what the real deal is ? should i add red loctite to the new bolt that already has blue on it ?
Did you get a new compensator kit? If so the trq should be in the instructions. It may be possible they are giving you the trq for the OE compensator and 2 are giving for the newest SE compensator. Google what part number you have for installation instructions and see what it says.
well, i called the factory today and after much looking and asking other techs i was told the torque in the service manual is correct at 140 lbs. final torque. they knew of no update of torque specs. for the 2012 bikes using the screaming eagle comp. that came stock on them.

I have one waiting to be installed. Not the new version. This one comes with the stator rotor. It says torque to 100lbs the loosen 1 round then retorque to 140lbs. The 3 drops of red locktite are a necessity. Friends came loose twice until the dealership put red locktite on it.
