I disagree. The problem is when searching for your answer on this or any forum for that matter will likely find you scratching your head as to why the answer to your cam question is buried in a thread about head gaskets.

if you're not willing to read, then you're likely to not find your answers..

NutZ I'll agree 100%. I just didn't want to sound like a Smart Azz either but this type of thread keeps repeating itself about every 5 threads and I'm thinking, didn't these guys do any reading at all before posting. Another big help in looking at what type of cams is go to the dyno sections on several different forums and take a look at what has been posted. There is about every combo you can imagine on them there. Again, hope this helps.

In my search I couldn't find any info on cam recommendations for bikes with a 30t comp sprocket...i figuered that is something important to consider. So no.... that doesn't come up every 5 threads. And I will be installing them my self..
So I don't have mechanic or dyno guy to ask.... that's why I started this thread.... and aside from one usefull post....I got a bunch of bs!!!!

I can tell you from experience that a properly tuned 103 with tw-555 will lose no low end torque over stock. If your concern is keeping the stock-like manners while kicking it up a big notch, that cam will not disappoint you. Having said that, I'm also assuming a stage 1 type intake and decatted exhaust or aftermarket head pipe. Just be careful because once you open up the box the fever rushes out and infects you. Ask me how I know... Jugs and heads at FM right now for 107 and FM b heads.

They pull the torque curve up about 10 ft/lbs, which is what many of us want in a touring bike, not an emphasis on top-end power. I can attest that it was exactly what I wanted and many others are happy with this setup, too.

The 48H is very similar and would also be a good fit for the 96" engine.
I'm with Iclick! Dropped a set of take-off SE255's in my 09FLHTP w/103 COULD NOT BE HAPPIER! Cams were $100 fresh out of a new CVO, local indy installed them for $532 out the door. Pulls good from idle, hits HARD @ 2Krpm and I'm shifting @ 4Krpm when in a hurry.

Only thing is, SE255's really need compression releases, 96" doesn't have them, all 103 do. SE255's are one of the best cams for Most baggers. Watch your tach and pay attention to what rpm your bike sees. On mine, it's 2000-3200 Most of the time, this is were SE255's really shine. I have heard they drop off/fall on their face above 4500. I can't comment on that yet, have not been above 42-4500. Motor seems much free'er, revs up much quicker, NO engine braking, (not sure I like this, will take some getting used to.)

I would recommend SE255's to anybody with a Touring bike w/CR installed. You can spend more money, get better Dyno printouts, not sure you can get a better drivable dresser.

what about my time? hell it took me all of about 19 seconds total to type in cam 30 tooth sprocket in the search function above and got 17 hits within the first 4 pages of 16 total pages on the 30 tooth sprocket and cam combination threads!

OP, glad you found what you were looking for sir...

Can't imagine what this will look like in February.

If you don't want to read about cams don't select the thread or if you accidentally find some one that wants to know something that they may find in the search engine then hit the back button. My time is really not that valuable. I did a search for the cam and 30 tooth sprocket and got about 10 hits and none were related to what op wanted to know. I enjoy learning and hearing upto date stuff. All the search returns were atleast 2 years old except one and it was about a 30 tooth sprocket on a Triglide.

Tee Bagger, sorry Man, I wasn't trying to give you BS or anything, it's just on this first page there was 5 threads going about cams and I figured there was enough info there to help you out. Listen, I have 204 cam now for 27,000 miles and couldn't have picked a better cam period. You can see in my sig. what it does and it's a good running 96" engine.
If I can help you in any way just give me a shout!!!!
