Default Chrome Rotors?

Hey all, I just purchased a 21" five star chrome front wheel that looks great. I would like that to continue right thru the process of mounting the two rotors on the front as well. I am searching high and low for a five star CHROME set of front rotors. Is chrome actually supplied for front rotors? What about floating rotors with a chrome center? Anything??

I have quite a few options available. Post a pic of your wheel so I can see what I have to match.

Chrome rotors are usually made up of two pieces. The center portion is chrome, the outer band is stainless steel. A pic showing where the holes for the rotor bolts would be most helpful for something for a direct bolt on. Feel free to call us here at the shop as well. (818)886-6545.

I'll see what I have with that bolt pattern for you in the morning. Are you running single disc or sticking with dual?

Would be surprised if any manufacturer actually chrome plated the breaking surface, for it would not allow for good breaking. You would not get the grip and grab required to stop the bike correctly. All other parts could be chrome but not the pad contact area.

Give me a call and I can show a few different options. Depending on the wheel itself and the design of the rotor you might have to turn the hub for the spokes of teh rotor to clock properly with the spokes of the rim. What brand is that wheel? Any idea? (818)886-6545

No one that I know has ever chromed stainless steel rotors. Now Performance Machine did(years ago) chrome plate 1 piece cast iron rotors and they worked so effing good, way better than these stainless steel rotors do, regardless of who makes them or how they are made. PM had them flash chromed and there was a procedure to bed in the rotors and then you removed the pads and sanded them on a surface plate to get rid of all the chrome that was removed off the rotor's braking surface by the pads. So the rest of the rotor was still chrome except where the pad removed the chrome. The cast iron is so superior to stainless steel in braking it is ridiculous but most harley guys will gladly give up braking power for beauty.

Any leads on these cast iron rotors? I'd love to try a set.

I had them in 92, they were 100 bucks each flash chromed cast iron so not super pretty, you could see the cutting marks through the flash chrome. No polishing was done for aesthetics, the chrome was for corrosion protection over the cast iron, but I don't see where PM makes them anymore as they didn't sell well. Like I said most harley guys are interested in form not function.
