Ordered some la choppers twin peaks 10" for the street glide, my Christmas present to myself..anyway, the question

Has anyone done these 10" la chopper bars only, have any advice or hints to make this go easy. How did you reroute your cables? Any pics of routing would be helpful. Looked online but didn't come up with what I was looking far. The youtube video helps a little but they didn't show how they rerouted the cables. Thanks

Brake line should work fine, you may have to loosen the banjo bolt and angle it differently. If you need additional length, snip the zip tie holding it to the frame neck. The clutch cable routing is trial & error inside the fairing until you get the additional play you need. Just watch that the cable is not making contact with the back of the gauges. Use zip ties to keep it from said gauges. Or run it outside of the fairing the same way the brake line is run. I ran mine that way with the 12" bars and like it better. I'm using the hole in the fairing for my GPS power cord now.

Same as HDV said and I also enlarged the exit hole for the wiring as it is extremely small and makes pulling the wires a pain in the ****. With that said, these are some of the easiest bars I've ever installed.

Ive got the 16" twin peaks and love them. Wiring was pretty easy I ran my wires with the stock sheathing on them to keep from the wires rubbing in the 90 degree turns. Made it a pain in the butt but was good self insurance to me. I also got rid of the green TBW to insure I had no problems with that after running the wires inside. I didnt make the hole bigger to pull wires through but I wish I would have. Its any easy job just take your time and good luck.

It's not a green wire, its a green plug and it was put there to make you cuss and stomp and throw ****. The green plug is very fragile and WILL cause you problems. Some use the Screamin Eagle version as it doesn't have the green plug. Some, like me, cut the green plug out and solder back together the corresponding wires and cover solder joints with heat shrink. If you need to lengthen the harness you can solder in your extensions when you cut out the green plug. I also extended my hand control harnesses this way too. Not sure if the SE TBW harness is long enough to do 16's. It may need extending as well. There's also aftermarket wiring extension kits that are plug n play as well.

Yeah with 10'a you'll be fine. I guess I had 16's on my mind from another thread. You are running wires internally aren't you?

Yea all wires will be internal. How does the left hand grip come off. Its still factory grips so are they glued on and will I have to cut it off.

You may get lucky and break it loose by twisting it to break the bond. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. You could use something thin to push under the grip and work your way around the bar to break it loose too. But if your not gonna reuse them and you can't break the glue, just cut them off. Once off use some Emery cloth to clean the old glue off the bars. Your replacement grips will come with glue in most cases if you want to use it. I use electrical tape instead. I just wrap the bars enough with it that it makes a snug fit. Doesn't bother me if the grip can twist a little in fact I prefer it that way.
