Bought a used base 2012 FLHX back in June. Been riding a 2006 Super Glide that I spent as much money on after buying it than I did buying it.
Just sat down to list upgrades to the Street Glide and add up what I have spent. In six months, I am right at the $4000 mark. Main purchases include wheels, stage one, Hog Tunes, cruise, LEDs, and lower fairings. Without deals from eBay, craigslist, and forum classifieds, output would probably been a couple thousand higher. Only labor paid was for turning on cruise at dealer.
If my bride sees this thread, I can only hope my third wife will be more understanding.
Who else would be shocked if they added it all up?
I track EVERYTHING I have ever spent on the bike(s) I have owned, right down to gas. It's disgusting! As of last year I am vowed to nothing more than daily running expenses, maintenance and repairs. I've got the bike to where I (we) want it and all that remains is to use it.
I have kept the recipts for everything i have bought for my '09 ultra and I added it up last year and it scared me how much i have spent so I keep the recipts but don't want to know anymore.
