I have been searching for a module to upgrade my turn signals to run/stop/turn and came across the HD Tri-Bar light replacement for the fender to convert the light to run and stop. I would like to replace mine with this but I also want to turn the rear turn signal lights to turn/run/stop also. Can one add a module in the harness to convert these and still add the Tri-Bar replacement? More STOP light visibility would be a plus but, I see my FLHX doesn't come up in the fitment section on the HD web site for the run/turn/brake module. Could this have something to do with the DOT issue I read somewhere?? I need more lights on my a$$!!!
From: No where special, I always wanted to go there.
That's funny, last night I was messing with the bike an notices that the front turn signals on my Deluxe also act as running lights but the rears do not. I just got on the forum to see if anyone has turned the rear turn signal lights in to run/turn lights and found your post. I guess I am looking for more lights on my a$$ also. It will be interesting to see what this thread turns up.
Ok, I know on both my '11 &'14 the rear lights are running, turn, and stop on my Street glide and Street Glide Special. I added the tri-bar to both without any additional module for the description you are looking for.. Confused.... Is this a US bike?
HD used to make a plug and play module that turns your turn signals into running lights that get a bit brighter when you apply the brakes. Pretty sure that the kit comes with red lenses as apparently yellow running lights are not legal in some states.
I ended up going with a kit from biketronics that that just made the turn signals run/turn as I was using it in conjunction with a BAL 1. Seems that biketronics is no longer selling this kit...
Dynamic Clusters. Not sure about your 12 glide, do you have a center brake light? I also have the tri bar. Here's some pics of the running lights and brake lights. I don't have any pics with the turn signals activated.

I'm not an expert, but I'd guess your bike has the exact same wiring harness as other touring bikes from the same year. So if you bought the t/r/s module that is compatible for tourers of your year, it'll work with your bike. Plus, buy it from your local dealer and you'll be able to easily return it if it doesn't work. Same with the tr-bar you're adding; wiring should be pretty standard and should match up with the module.
Next, get yourself a BAL-1 brake light, and then upgrade the turnsig lights on the tri-bar w/LED's. (I did this + t/r/s module; huge difference in visibility.)
I run a Run/Turn/Brake controller with the stock bulbs (and replacement red lens) along with a BAL tail-light. The incandescent Run/Turn/Brake lights are plenty bright and are seen/interpreted differently than the LED's.
The Run/Turn/Brake controller is available from HD or Kuryakyn with lenses for less than $70 I think.
Hmmm, like GlidingJoe mentioned they're standard on the SG. If you're looking for brighter lights, then CustomDynamics might be your best bet as mentioned by Sanman4ever.
I have that module for my King along with LED brake and turn signals. The HD P&A book says it's not recommended for FLHX.
