Default Chrome Front End Parts List

Hi All, and too all the Chrome Front End Guru's - I need some advice and help please..
I'm Currently collecting all the parts for a chrome front end on my 09 street glide - having a friend do the install, looking for advice on the list of parts required, here's what I have got
***** Shinny fork legs (exchange program)
Chrome cow bells
Polished rotors (***** shinny)
SE heavy fork oil
(And I have a service manual!)
My question is what seals/ O Rings/ nuts bolts etc will I need and furthermore, while this front end is apart is it worth throwing a set of Progressive Mono Tubes in to beef up the front suspension - for $350 maybe a good idea?
Any other parts I've over looked please feel free to berate my stupidity!
Amazingly I went to my local HD dealer to ask for advice and they were less than helpful as I wasn't purchasing the HD full kit, and installation from them.....
As always thanks for the help in advance.
Ride Safe.

No experience with the monotubes, so no help there. For the slider swap, I would at least get the seals, the o-rings for the top caps, and the copper washers for the allen bolts in the bottom.

And I would add the copper washers for the drain screws, covers of your choice for the axle and nut, and chrome nuts for the axle clamp on the fork tube. Don't like the SE heavy oil in mine, plan to go back to original before spring riding weather.

Thanks for the feedback guys, what was your experience with the SE heavy fork oil that makes you want to go back to std fork oil?

Front Axel nut covers - 44117-07A, $27.95
Chrome Front Wheel Spacers - 41458-08, $39.95
Front Axel nuts - 45813-03, $7.95
Chrome drain screws (copper washers included) - 45848-03, $3.95
Fork Oil seals - 45875-84A, $15.54
6mm Screws (copper washers included) - 45405-75A, $2.00
Fork tube oil seals - 45733-48, $1.14 (not needed with mono tubes)

I believe all the price quotes are from Ronnie's.

In addition, get the mono tubes. I ended up doing mine twice due to not going the monotube route the first time. It makes the install alot easier as well. Compressing the stock fork spring is work. Easternpc has the monotubes for $250.

What brake pads are going going to be using with those chrome rotors?

Word of caution: You'll soon discover you need a chrome wheel, chrome calipers, and a different fender to show it off.

It's fine on smooth pavement and curves and reduces brake dive but it "rattles" the front end on irregular surfaces. The forks can't react quick enough on washboard like pavement. With the winter here so far, I'm afraid all the pavement will be irregular by spring.

Thanks Sanman - this is what I'm looking for!
As for the break pads - I have polished stainless rotors so I was going to run my stock pads to start with, if they squeal excessively then try an EBC set
Btw I will get a set of mono tubes thanks for the tip on the EP $ - do mono tubes require oil? Or are they self contained and pressurized units?

When I did mine, I lowered the front fender, shaved off the rivets and had my guy paint it while I was waiting for the rest of the chrome to show up. I did calipers (with brake pads), rotors, drain plugs, and axle covers too. Then I ended up going with a FatBaggers flush axle about 6 months later. It is pretty nice to do it all in one shot. Good luck with the project!!

Be sure and post pictures of the mods. A chrome front end makes a bike in my book.

The squealing from brake pads isn't caused from the pad against the rotor but from the point that the caliper pistons touch the back of the pad. Any type of squeal can usually be eliminated by applying caliper grease to the back of the pads and pad pin during installation.

Also I would not use the stock pads with a polished rotor. Might mark them up. For me I went with Lyndall Zplus pads. My experience with the EBC's was to much brake dust.

The mono tubes only require 5 ounces of 10wt fluid each leg. It's more for lubrication since the mono tube is a closed loop cartridge set up. I do see posts where people use the SE oil in them. I installed per Progressive specs.
