DON'T DO A COVER! Get the chrome inner primary and do it right, not that much $$$ or time...and you can easily do it yourself, or leave it as is! JMHO

Think of it as a investment. As stated earlier, the first time you see a cover, then look at yours, you'll know why. If you have a Fastenal, or Lowes around, and have a buffer, you can polish your own stainless fasteners as well. Takes time, but what a feeling!

My next upgrade, along with the chrome front end. How difficult is it to install the inner primary?

Lowers gearing(3%),makes it easier to move from a stop and lets you use 6th gear a little earlier

No problem at all with a manual, tools, and common sense. You need to buy, or make, a primary locking bar. You may have to press your new IPB into the cover, but that ain't a problem either. Don't let any of this scare you, it ain't nuttin.

the inner primary for the 13 models comes with the bearings, seals, and pins already in it so no worries there. Part # 60739-07

but yes you're right. It's not a difficult job at all. As stated you'll need the locking bar, either prefabbed or homemade doesn't matter. they do the same thing. Most just cut a block of wood for this.

that compensator bolt though can be a biatch to get off at 140ft lbs. Make sure you have a good torque wrench and a service manual.

only I WILL think less if you use a cover. Do it right the first time or don't do it.
