It does not charge while being used. You have to use the cable to charge. Sorry...I thought I already clarified that.
That being said, I still really like it and it lasts a long time on a single charge.

I got one of these after reading this thread when it started and it worked great until the battery went dead. It definitely does not charge when plugged to 3.5 jack as I found out the hard way. Then I tried to charge with 30 pin USB and wouldn't charge either so I emailed Auris and they told me to mail it back to them even though I bought it on Amazon so out in the mail it went this morning. I will keep you posted as to how they handle it.
