Carb Cleaner Trick:

I did the carb cleaner spray into the intake manifold and the bike
almost died on me. Bike has been popping alot lately. going to fix it
friday but can this cause damage I can not see? Not sure how long
they have been leaking. thanks

I never heard of carb cleaner hurting your pistons so I am not sure what the dancing imp was refering to, but the leak at your manifold creates a lean condition. It can cause you problems and should be fixed.

carb cleaner is designed to Clean/remove gas,oils lubricants,,,,,,

wouldnt WD-40 be a better suggetion,,, or something sim/?

you didnt hurt anything...carb cleaner will clean everything it touches...its a very good cleaner for valves and soot....bet it smoked some....next time get the revs to about 3k and spray it in there....youre popping is tune related or perhaps your intake or exhaust are suckin air...not carb cleaner related
