Tire question
I just ordered a tires on Ebay... vendor told me the tire was new...got it and it was 11 years old...HAHAHHAHA... emailed them...returned full refund including UPS back. Ordered another one... EIII little cut in the tire was not disclosed... Vendor asked me to put a drill bit through the side wall full refund....Just got a new Avon Cobra...NICE...Was going to go with the EIII again but $103 delivered to my door was hard to beat. Got over 30000 miles with the EIII on front...I would hesitatew to install anything over 4 yrs old...and for sure not over 6 yrs old. In your case the tubes are the big variable...At least make sure those are good.
I agree, just replace that front tire. A huge factor in a motorcycle tire is not only concerns over how much tread is there, but also the "stickiness" of the rubber so that it grips the road surface well, especially in turns. The tread may look great and there may not be any cracks, but I'm very concerned that the "stickiness" of the rubber will be lacking or gone after so much time as the rubber ages.
Usually I go through 2 rear tires for every front tire. This explains the rear being newer since 10-15k is what you'll get out of a cruiser style bike on the rear tire.
Replace that front tire.
