What causes tire cupping? I have a 2015Limited with just under 10,000 miles on it. Both tires are cupping?
Tires used to last around 10K on my old 2004 EG but when I bought this new bike I was told these tires were different and could expect to see around 20K mile life out of them???
Does it hurt to run them a few miles more? They "hum" on corners. Both right and left (little more on left corners) but plenty of tread life left on them.Rear tire is worse than front tire.. I'm sure its something I did! It all started about 1000 miles ago on a trip thru MI and before that trip I checked tire pSI and were good and just the other day I checked and rear was 3PSI low so I didn't run them crazy high or low ??
I had cupping on my stock '09 Fatbob front tire after 6,000 miles. Switched to RK front tire and have never had the problem again. I don't think it's you..I would switch it sooner than later.
Service writer told me nobody else makes those bike tires except Dunlop??? I find that hard to believe?
Dunlop makes the Harley tires for the touring bikes. Nobody but Dunlop makes Dunlop tires. You are free to buy other brand tires in the correct size but you won't find them at the dealership.
If you bought the optional tire/wheel insurance and want too maintain it, you are restricted to either the original type Dunlops or the Harley Davidson branded Michelin Scorchers. Now having said that, I am in Canada and it is possible the Canadian ESP is different from the American one These two brands of tires have HD part numbers and keep your insurance intact.
I installed the Scorchers on my 2014 Ultra and after 1500 miles far prefer them to the original Dunlops. Better ride and much better in the corners. I haven't ridden in rain yet, but I like the idea of the continuos center groove to dispel water.
If no tire/wheel insurance, look into Michelin Commander lls. Everybody that I talked to that were riding on them had nothing but high praise.

I have always got 20,000 miles out of the OEM dunlops and the Dunlop American Elites. Not sure what your issue is, but I don't think 3 psi would make much difference.
