It's like this is some rally point for the cool kids in school to talk about squids. Don't forget that some of those guys slowed down and started dressing the pirate part like the rest of yuns. LOL!
Me? Full face, high quality helmet. I have seen up close what can happen when someone goes down and skids out into the woods. My buddy broke his jaw, shattered his orbital bone(eye socket), broke some teeth out, and had pretty severe brain bleeding. All while wearing a high quality full face helmet. Anything less and he would not have survived I feel sure.
Plus I ride in the rain and or bugs. Once you get above a certain size of either, it is preferable to have something blocking said objects. Then there's that big cheese grater out there that we call a road. Seems a full face helmet might be better at keeping your face from dragging down it.
Might be just me though...
Not just you. I have ridden both and swapped back to modular because I'm much too handsome to be drinking through a straw for the rest of my life. Noticed MANY more riding HD with FF helmets down here over the past few years. To each their own, but I'm tired of the hate - we are all on two wheels and there are good and bad in both groups
