Default Jerzee customs low pro oil psi gauge kit heads up

i ordered this kit for my 2009 FLHX.
It came. I was very pleased with the kit, the simple directions, the quality of the chrome and the gauge.

Fast forward to the install.

The bracket for the gauge goes on the rear jugs two cover bolts. I did have to take the 2 tank bolts out to lift the tank 3 inches to get the one bolt out of the head cover. No biggie. I put some 242 blue thread locker back on both bolts put them through the low pro bracket and reinstalled and torqued to 18 ft lbs per my manual.

Let's go now to the crankcase oil pressure sending unit.
With my headers on it was a little tricky getting in between the header to get to the sending unit. But once I got a wrench on it it only took a few turns to get the oil pressure sending unit backed out enough to do the rest by hand. Once it was out, maybe 3 tablespoons of oil dripped out. You won't loose a lot of oil so don't worry.

I used thread sealant and screwed the TEE that came with the kit into the crank case where the oil pressure sending unit came out.
I then dressed the sending units threads and attempted to screw it into the TEE.

NOTE: it does not fit the 2009 because the TEE takes up an inch of space and the FLHX sending unit is long and hits the frame down tube as you try to get it started into the tees threads.

Now what? Went to dealer. They laughed. Can't call jerzee customs no phone number and only email. Enter FABRICATION MAN.

The sending unit was too long by at least 1/4 inch. I decided to take it over to my grinder wheel and gently grind back the oil psi switchs plastic housing lip that was meant to accept the Delphi plug.

I ground back the plastic oil psi switch end which would make clipping the switch back onto the sending unit impossible but first things first.
I was now able to reinstall the sending unit.

Now I had to remove the 2 female pins from the connector itself and discard the connector.

I took the two female pins and added shrink boot to each wire and pushed them back onto the sending units posts.

I then shrunk the heat shrink over the individual posts.
I then took black rtv and filled the two wire post cavity with black rtv.
I added a few tie raps, started her up and I'm good to go.

Now the reason I added the oil psi gauge in the first place was because I was never too thrilled about the stock oil psi gauge in the dash but I didn't know if I did abandon the hook up if it would throw an ECM code so I went on a mission to keep it working.

So if you have this model bike don't think it's 1,2,3 like the directions say.
Jerzee that TEE is about 1/4 inch too long!
Hope this helps.

The owner of jerzee customs called me back today and is sending me a tee that's on a 45 degree angle to fix this issue.

I just called him today after finding his number and he returned the call tonight while on his weekend off while snowmobiling someplace.

That's a guy who takes pride in his work and his business.
He said if anyone else is going to order one please let him know that it's going on a 09 or above FLHX and he will include it in the kit.

The road glides 2009 don't have long sending units because their oil pressure sending units just control a light and not a pressure gauge.
