I am 5'10" my wife is 5'. Purchased a sundowner on Craigslist pretty cheap and it was new. Put it on the bike and rode for an hour or so and it felt fine. Put the stock seat back on and planned on using the sundowner for longer trips because it looks so big on a SGS. Took a 450 mile round trip 2 days ago with the wife on the sundowner and sold it yesterday. My wife said it felt like her legs were spread too far apart and caused hip pain after an hour on the bike. It put me up in the buffeting area, which caused me to slouch and resulted in neck and shoulder pain. It was also a bit too wide for me when planting my feet on the ground. It was a miserable ride.
Just test each one out for more than an hour and you will be able to make an educated decision. For me, the stock seat just fits me and my wife. An airhawk pad may be all I need for longer trips.
Good luck with your decision. It can be an expensive mistake with multiple seat purchases.

Sundowner here as well, mainly for the wife's comfort .... the best advice to take away from this thread is to demo seats from a local dealer or shop. Demo'd the Sundowner, Hammock and Rush (both with and without the channel) ... Sundowner was the best for us, but no necessarily for you.

We are all different in body, posture, riding position and preference.

Having tried manyof the Harley seats I found the duel touring Corbin for my Street Glide to be the best. I am 5-8" and it moved me forward about 1" which was great and I can ride all day. None of the Harley seats felt this good.

Thanks for the input. I do plan on trying a demo seat or two and maybe a friends Corbin. Just trying to do some research. It's a pretty expensive investment. I hadn't thought about the Airhawk. That sounds like a good idea.

I noticed nobody mentioned Saddlamen's. Good thing because I made the mistake of buying their road sofa gel with leather and after 3000 miles it never broke in. It felt like my wife and I were riding on a 2 x 10. Airhawks helped tremendously with that seat. Sold the bike and have a '14 UC now but only have 200 miles due to mother nature. I'm keeping the Airhawks just in case the new weat proves unbuttworthy.

I have tried a bunch of them and the Mustang Super Touring seat is best for me. I have not found a limit to the hours I can ride on that seat. Tried the Hammock and had the same sore spots as stock seat.

I can't say either, alot of varibles there. I just wish I could find something that stopped my tailbone from getting so sore, even on fairly short rides. Any suggestions? Haven't tried the AirHawk...but there are several models there.......hmmmmm
