Question... I have a 2013 Streetglide 103. I would like to throw cams in it only. I want to keep the stock pipes. Could I use the SERT from the new 2014 Rushmore Streetglide Special that comes from the factory with the better cams and stock pipes?
the sert isnt made just for each model the dongle r sert connection is a device to download different programs into your bike the 2014 program may not even download to your bike it usually tells uif u pick an imcompatable program sounds like your pretty new to this type of technology
Use search at
top of page and type in sert and start reading u will either get it or get even more confused

Ya really need to do a little research. Adding cams with the stock air cleaner will really limit performance. What is your goal adding cams? A proper tune is the most important part of proper running.
Let me explain more clear what I was thinking. I have a 2013 stock Streetglide.
My buddy just bought a 2014 Streetglide Limited. I think its the limited. Its the one that is air cooled and has hotter cams from the factory in it. I took it for a ride and its a lot quicker than mine and it sounds better with the factory exhaust on it.
I was thinking that if the only thing that the factory did from his motor to mine was add hotter cams than why couldn't I buy the same set of cams for my bike and throw them in and use the factory SERT from the 2014. I want to keep this bike quiet because I already have a loud CVO.
There is no such thing as a 2014 Streetglide Limited, check the Harley website. There is a 2014 Streetglide and a 2014 Streetglide Special. They both have the exact same engine and cams. The 2013 Streetglide has a slightly lower compression ratio. Changing up to a 2014 cam will not affect the compression ratio.

You can put in cams, and use a SERT to tune your bike. I will run a little better, but if you also change the air cleaner to a high flow like the SE, it will run much better. You can keep your stock exhaust.
The 14's also have a different intake as well as the cam.
One thing I've found is once you start with the mods, it don't stop. eg. install cam then you will want intake and fuel programmer, then slip-ons, then headers or decat.
Have fun..
