I think I've screwed the pooch but hopefully yall can help me out. I was taking apart the exhaust and accidentally dropped the nut off the crossover exhaust pipe clamp. I can't find it and I'm thinking it dropped into the hole above the belt pulley. If it did, how can I get it out?
I thought about jacking up the bike and rotating the rear wheel by hand to see if I hear it drop or something. Need suggestions fast.
I recently removed my rear fender and found several 'lost' items sitting on the swingarm lug at the rear of the trans casing. Roll the rear wheel forwards and backwards, just in case the nut has dropped onto the belt. Do that with the wheel off the ground and by hand, just in case the nut rolls into the pulleys. Otherwise use a magnet, as Freebirdsride1 suggests.

First sweep the floor......I've found nuts and screws 10 feet from where I thought they landed. If you can find it that way go to the hardware store and get one of those magnets on a telescoping rod. Put the bike up on the jack-stand so it's upright and start probing with the magnet. You will find it. BTW where is the screw-able pooch on a motorcycle?

Ole school but I throw a blanket on the floor under the bike... stops those nuts and screws from sliding across the concrete floors, better if your working out in a gravel driveway.
