I've heard of the windex before...... On enamel it's never a good choice because ammonia strips the wax, but I suppose that's not a problem on denim or satin finishes. S1000 is sold in most dealerships as I seem to remember. However, never dull hasn't occurred to me, as I thought it was for aluminum, or raw metal instead of chrome. I have some old chrome stuff in the garage, maybe I'll give it a crack. I usually use the glaze on my chrome, leaves a nice deep shine, or I use plain old turtle wax chrome polish.

If you guys have never tried the pig snot, you're missing out..... You'd never know my engine cases had ever been in the street, still looks like showroom (hoping I don't get flamed by the real bikers for that comment).

Now tires...... There's a place I haven't mastered yet, always terrified to lose grip, so I sort of just leave them alone, with the exception of the whitewalls, which get a magic eraser and water. Stainless is another area I'm not too good with either, I just hit it with chrome polish, seems to do well enough.

Default Engine Detailer

I like the Harley Engine Detailer better than the S100

Harley actually use to recommend Windex w/ammonia for denim bikes in the owner's manual. I think that was before they came out with their own formula. I find that the Windex streaks allot less than the denim cleaner (less wiping with microfiber). Windex and HD denim cleaner are the only products you ever want to use on denim paint.

For bathing you can't beat the HD Sunwash but I have used Meguiar's car wash with good results. Drying thoroughly after washing is key. I've used S100 and it's ok, but don't even think about using it on a warm bike, it will spot like crazy. I sometimes use it around the engine/trans when it's real dirty, but you have to rinse it thoroughly. The S100 Engine brightener is great for a dull engine case. For the tires I just use Eagle One tire cleaner, but I don't have whitewalls.

The HD Glaze/Polish is absolutely great! I use it use it on all the chrome/aluminum parts. If you don't have a denim bike it's great on the painted parts as well. I especially like the HD Glaze because it doesn't stain the black engine case parts if you accidentally hit it like chrome polish will. I only use Semi-Chrome polish if I have stubborn spots or scuffs on pipes/etc. With any chrome polish stay away from the black engine case as it will stain and it does not come off.

I to washed and detailed my bike using HD cleaning products at their cleaning station in Sturgis . Because of that I now use "HD Spray Cleaner and Polish" for between waxing touch-ups ,"HD Engine Brightener" and a "Hog Blaster Motorcycle Dryer" because it works and is safer to use on my bike than my Echo leaf blower .
Now in regards to non-HD products , the following are in my arsenal of time-tested products which I think work well .

Crystal Glaze Acrylic Motorcycle Polish
Chemical Guys "Clayblock &Clay Super Lube
Plexus Plastic Cleaner Protectant & Polish (windshield)
303 Aerospace Protectant (vinyl, rubber plastic, leather, )
Wheel Guard (chrome wheels)
Chemical Guys Citruswash +Gloss
Bugslide (I bring a small pump-spray for cleaning windshield when I'm on the road)

What do you guys use for under the bike? Is there a squirt on/rinse off product you recommend?

S100 Cycle Cleaner aerosol but rinse it thoroughly. It's great for hard to reach areas.

I use Meguiars & Mothers cleaning & polishing, waxing products all are good products & you seem get alot more for the money than what you get with any HD product & they clean/polish,wax just as well if not better. Pigsnot is on my list to try in the future. Just my thoughts

I have used HD cleaning products and I find that there is no difference from Mothers, Meguires, and other off the shelf auto products. Anyone who thinks their Harley's are "special" and NEED HD products is.......well......JUST WHAT HD WANTS.
