Default rear speaker boxes

Anyone made their own rear speaker boxes, covered in marine vinyl or leather and then put in marine speakers or something similar?

Due to what I ride they came stock but I don't see why they would be hard to build. Lining up the holes for mounting may be the biggest issue.Marine grade speakers are on e-bay under Harley all the time.

have you look at hog tunes aftermarket ones, I work with fiberglass and the problem I see is good templates to build from. I can find one off ultra but they have the cut outs for volume and sqelch

Call Hogtunes and talk to Pez (the owner). He is great to work with. He was able to break apart a complete set of hog tunes and sell me only the items that i actually needed. I looked on ebay for months trying to find a set of speker pods. I got the speaker pods, front and rear speakers and the wire harness from Pez for 330 delivered. The speaker pods alone from HD are over 150 ea...and that without the speakers.

Try Dragonfly Concepts' website; they sell speaker pods that accept 6.5" speakers, rather than the 5.25" HD speakers for $200 for the pair. They don't come with cutouts for the volume/ptt switches found on the HD pods.
