Default 2014 Ultra Classic

Who is happy with their '14 Ultra Classic and does not wish they had bought a Limited?

I keep thinking that few people complained about the air-cooled 103 before. Still trying to decide on which bike to buy. Please no replies from Limited owners.

I only have 900 KM (540 miles) on my 2014 Ultra (Vivid Black) but so far it is excellent. I had heated grips and a heated seat installed for $600.00, much less than the price difference between the Ultra & Limited. Other than the upgraded stereo, I'm not missing anything. Why spend the extra if you don't need to.

And why wouldn't you? It's a nice new bike. But I'm interested in hearing from owners of new Ultra Classics who also love their bike and may or may not have regrets.

I 'had' my Limited for 30 days (owned it for ~90). My selling dealer's tech had a crash with it (it was in for warranty work on the leaking cooling system, and the 1K service; thankfully, he was OK), and ~$13.5K in damage (paid by the other party's insurance) and an educational experience that included meeting a lawyer and learning about bailments & law suits, I now have an Ultra with some $$ back in my pocket.

I loved the Limited, and once spring comes, I expect I'll love the Ultra as well.

Bottom line was I didn't care about the CB, rack, etc. of the Limited, and I could get an Ultra with the 6.5 radio and add the heated grips - so I went for the Ultra. I do miss the chrome wheels. And...while I'm sure they'll have it sorted soon, I don't miss the teething pains of the Twin-Cooled system.

If you think you want the Limited, I wouldn't settle, buy it with confidence... it ends up costing more in the long run to buy the bike twice. If you want the Ultra, I don't think you can go wrong there either (but I'm biased ).

Cheers

BTW, The latest Cycle World has a brief test on the Limited... I read it last night and there test, if I remember correctly, showed the Twin cooled engine made 4HP more than the air cooled '14 Street Glide they tested a couple of months back. Torque was the same figure, and I believe they said they both 'felt about the same'.

No Regrets here! I love mine, have put 2500mi on since I bought. Read about all the upgrades Harley has added to the Bike and there pretty much all true.

I know that not all have had problems with the water cooled motor, but a few have, and at the time of purchase I was not fully comfortable with potential issues. The only issue I have seen that has been stated here is the static pop on the radio.

If the other options that don't come on the Ultra Classic are a must have get the Limited, it is an upgrade to the UC. It they don't much matter get the UC and add the difference in price to the options that do matter, or just keep the difference.
For me I have added alot of stuff and still haven't got to the difference in $ it would have taken me to buy the Limited.

How do you like the Wind Splitter? Does it reduce wind noise and passenger buffeting?
