I did the 1" lower mono tubes with my 21" wheel and I LOVE it.

Sounds like the mono tubes are the way to go. I've just heard some people like the drop in version better.

Mono tubes are twice the money but do ride nicer. I've done springs in my both my bikes and have no complaints.

Only a small amount of oil is required for lubing the internal parts in the fork tube. The mono tubes themselves are a sealed unit. OEM seals are fine. I reinstalled my old seals, only 5k on them, and after 15k I have no issues.

The bike has 50,000 miles and as far as I know they are stock so I belive I should replace with oem to air on the side of caution.

That's probably a good idea. Depending on the lower legs you get you may or may not need additional seals for drain screws etc. Make sure you look at what's included with the lower legs, most won't include any seals from what I've been told, mine didn't. All I needed were the tube seals (reused the stock ones) and the crush washers for the bottom mono tube retention bolts that go in from the bottom of the legs.

When u say seals for drain screws do u mean the crush washers at the bottom of the legs at the axel?

Eastern Performance has the mono tubes on sale for $270 with free shipping, I put mine in along with the 944 rear shocks and its like going from a Chevy Vega to a Caddy and the wife is happier
