Best for back road cruising but interstates are another story. 70+ mph with crap tossed up from cats and semi's and I'm glad the polycarbonate plate is there.

Yep...They look better without but it sucks to ride at highway speeds for any amount of time without one...I bought a Roadking so I could ride with or without depending on what I am doing...
I have yet to get one right doing that...Tried all the methods. I can turn a wrench but when it comes to artsy type stuff, I don't have the skill set...

That places the 17 inch high recurve with standard width at a good price.
The standard height is 19.5 so if you place a piece of tape 2.5 inches below the top edge you can "see" were the edge would be with the 17 inch shield they offer.
For me the 17 inch allows me to see over the shield but it still feels very similar to the 19.5
Buying a shield is difficult because someone can be 5 foot 8 and have a long torso and someone else can be 5 foot 11 and have a short torso but both would have the same seat vision height.
Subtract the 2.5 inches from your stock with a crayon line or tape and "see" how it feels.
Note: shipping was slow for me if i remember (about 3 weeks).
