hey philm
whats up with those37gs you didnt like? why do you like the headquarters better? how do you contact headquarters? im one week away from doing my eglide cams and im undecided. my builder/tuner swears by the 37g for my weight and aggressive ridng style (to the rev limiter). please educate me...
My experience with the 37's was that it was REALLY hard to keep them from pinging, when the bike was tuned right. Others told me, up front that it would happen, but I figured I could make them work. Well... they ran great, but (espically when I could not find 93 octane fuel) I could not keep it from pinging like mad.
I suppose if one never travels, and he lives in an area with good gas readliy available, then it does not matter. However, I ride a Bagger because I do like to hit the road & go! And that brings up another point.... If you look at the Andrews site, they will tell you that the 37 is designed for "light bikes" & I don't think my RG fits that description ~ at least not w/me on it! [&:]
The HQ-0039 have prooved to be great cams for me, in my current build.
As is always the case, proper comonent selection is key to any successful build. You really need to choose a cam that compliments the rest of your build and riding style.
If you want to contact HQ, their website is www.head-quarters.com . Probably your best bet would be to contact Doug via his Yahoo group, as the phones are ofter jammed. Check here: http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/HQTechline/
