I want to hear from the guys that have experiance with the SE-259E or the woods 777 cams. I would like to know how they perform on the road, and what their strengths/weaknesses are. I am trying to decide which cam to get so any information would be helpful. I like real world applications to go along with just WOT dyno runs.
WOW I thought somebody would have experiance to share about one of these cams. I don't need somebody that has had both, just personal expreriance with one or the other.
Well the Woods 777's are fairly new so there probably very few people that have them installed yet. But I know there are a ton of other cam threads where people talk about their likes and dislikes.
cams are part of a system, and that system has to work with the weight/gearing of the bike, riding style and owners expectations for performance vs reliability and cost ( because you get the pick 2- the third is based on that)
chosen cams also have to work with displacement, compression, intake and exhaust tracts
determine as best you can what you would like to happen, then find the builder/tuner who has a proven record of supplying just that.
The cam(s) of the month club...?
Everyone always wants someone to sell them on something, huh?
No offense meant, just stating an observaton...
A mild build would be my recommendation considering what it is that you are working with, no?

I have a few hundred miles with the new 777's installed by Fuel Moto. On the road' power comes on very strong as low as 2500rpm. The initial torque when you first hit the throttle is impressive. The 103 with 777 cams and level B heads makes as much power and torque as a 107 with 555 cams and heads. Power is not lacking where you need it most... 2500 to 3500 rpm. WOT is strong and there does't seem to be any trade off down low for the impressive improvement up top. I really am impressed.
I'm running the 259's with 10.5:1 compression. They come on the strongest just below 3000 and pull hard to at least 5500. Usually when I'm running it that hard I'm not focused on exact rpms. I like them a lot and am happy with them. I have about 5000 miles on them. They do ok in 6th, but if I need power quicker I just downshift. 103hp 120tq. No headwork
