Default Windshield bolt torque

I have a 2013 Street Glide. I ordered a Cee Devil windshield from Cee Bailey's and have a question. A warning sticker on the new shield says to torque the shield to 3-5 inch pounds to avoid cracking. This seems a little on the light side to me as I have read anywhere from 20-30 inch pounds. It says 3-5 inch pounds would be about the same as tightening a water bottle cap. I can see not overtorquing, but 3-5 inch pounds?

Any thoughts??
Thanks, Tom

I also have a 2013 SG with a Cee Baileys windshield. I didn't torque any of the screws...just tighten to a normal tightness (which means tighten up to just before they break!).

i took mine offf and on tons of times, never "torqued" them, just tightened them using good judgement. didnt crank down on them. tighted them them till it gets snug, i would alternate between the 3 and get them even as you can.... or just get an impact and save time lol

Thats what my svc manual calls for also. 3-5 inch lbs seems light too me. Better take it off during locust season.

You can get all the fairing screws plenty tight by hand. Never crank down on them with a ratchet.

I use a screw driver with torq tip. I use my finger tips to tighten. This way I know I'm not over tightening. Snugged up is all I need. I start in the middle and work outward with your screws.
And I have tighten a water bottle by hand so tight that I could not get the cap off.
