Have you checked to see if the wire connections at the brake switch are solid? Could be losing connection for a split second during bumps. Just a thought.

Mine has also done it after hitting a big bump. I think it might be a built in safety thing. if the bike thinks it has left the ground or in a possible wreck it makes sense for the cruise to shut down....right?

Another cruise control deactivation feature is rolling-off on the throttle. Could be when you hit those bumps that you roll-off just enough to deactivate the cruise.

I have the same problem. It started after I replaced the stock clutch and brake levers with aftermarket ones. In my case, it's the front brake lever - the slightest bump will cancel the cruise control. Yes, my clutch lever is as close as I can get it to the brake light switch.

I have had that happen to me before, but only on bumps that were large enough to get me airborne off the seat.

This has happened to me many times and thought it was a feature of the ABS that shuts down the cruise when both tires are not going the same speed.

Had it happen to me several times with my 03 Classic. First time was due to throttle cables having too much slack for roll on/off. Adjusted cables and all was good. Next it was found to be the micro-switch on the brake lever out of adjustment. Slight bumps would cause brake light to go on thereby shutting down the cruise control. Ended up placing a 1/8" spacer between the brake handle and micro-switch which allowed for more travel on the hand brake before activating and all is good. Replacement of the hand brake switch runs around $70 bucks plus and it is no longer plug and play but requires cutting and splicing. Its the little ^)&^ on these bikes that really get annoying.

I had it happen once last year. It wasn't a bottom out type of bump, more like a rolling drop off. I even tried to duplicate it a week later at the same spot & didnt happen.

It happens to me when I hit larger bumps, not really concerned about it - annoyed, yes.

I always chalked it up to the bump moving the foot brake lever just enough to pop it out of cruise.
