Another cruise control deactivation feature is rolling-off on the throttle. Could be when you hit those bumps that you roll-off just enough to deactivate the cruise.
This is what happens to me. Couldn't figure out why my cruise was shutting off when I hit a bump until I realized that I was rolling the throttle forward (roll-off) enough to shut it down.
Now I just use that "feature" to remind me to loosen my grip on the throttle when I've got the cruise activated, and my hand doesn't get as cramped on long rides.
if it warms up enough again today, will take it for another cruise on the same road. Plan on setting the cruise and keeping my hand off the throttle. Wiring connections good on switches. if it were only on big bumps I wouldn't care. But its on a normal road around here.
Warmed up today so went for a ride. Cruise control must have shut off 6 times in ten miles when hitting bumps. Bumps in the road may be worse because of frost, but its not that rough. Checked brake light switch function in pedal and handle and it takes considerable travel to activate. Will look in the service manual at the wiring for the cruise to see if there are any other switches that could shut the cruise down. Anyone ever run into this before or have another idea? 2013 Street Glide.
No one has mentioned that the rear tire may actually lose contact with the road surface, changing the speed recorded in the ECM, therefore shutting down the cruise feature. It's happened to me a few times, 2012 Streetglide, and that was my thoughts..........
You didn't mention if as part of the pre-ride check you pumped up the tires a bit above normal. That would make the ride seem a bit rougher and might get the rear tire off the ground enough for the cruise to cancel.

No but I only have about 2300 miles on my SG.......got it Sept and only got to ride for a couple months. I'll watch out for this issue. Thanks
My last geezer Glide, an 11 FLHTCU did it occasionally on the frost heaves here in NY. I didn't get too many miles on the 14 Wet Head before it got garaged in Dec, so I haven't had it happen yet...Maybe I'll ride NEXT month...
