I recently installed 13 inch arlen ness monkey bars and had been using a sweet chrome riders claw setup to hold my phone for navigation and music but now with the new bars i think it is going to act and look like a billboard on there lol....so trying to come up with some new slick idea to still be able to have my phone mounted for gps and tunes....thanks
im putting a powerlet mount and re-using my ram maount on my new bars. it has a 12v port to charge my phone while im riding so i dont have to run a cord from the dash to the mount keeping it clean.
here are links to my set up http://www.powerlet.com/product/hand...dget-mount/619
I have had the same issue since installing 12 MBB. I still use my Ram mount...i just put it very low, but I hate the way it looks now. Thing is....I take the mount off and on...it's only on if I do a nice long ride and wanna do Pandora or GPS.
Don't know if this will be helpful, but there are a number of different phone mount options, and a free tips page here: http://www.leadermotorcycle.com/phoneguide.html Can be mounted to brake or clutch, to windshield, etc. Waterproof options too...
See Iron Aces Speed Shop. I have the version for the Street Glide. It mounts on the dash front-and-center. Great for viewing GPS maps. You can stick it on using the provided 3M double-sided tape or drill holes through the dash and secure with a couple of screws.
You can mount different attachment to the plate to hold your phone. I started with RAM's X-grip attachment, but I hated the way the X-grip pivots while I'm riding. So I changed to Rokform attachment which is secured to the Iron Aces mount by a couple of screws.. Now the phone stays put.
Look at the LifeProof Case. They are waterproof and have a handle bar option. Clips right onto your handle bar and then clips right onto your belt. Very easy, safe, secure and waterproof! I have had mine for a few years now. Love it!
I like those mounts and location but just painted my inner fairing ....I guess i need to come up with something not like it has to be soon lol looks like winter is hear to stay
Trying to decide same thing since I put the Yaffe MBB on, I use phone for GPS but cant see where it will look ok with these bars, probably going to mount to inner some how.
