Going to install Sony 5710, HogTunes, with the BikeTronics harness this weekend. Bike is 05 EG that came with no stereo. I think I'm good at hooking everything up except the speakers. My Question is:
Once the BikeTronics harness is hooked to the stereo, where does the speaker connection come from? I have not removed fairing yet and assume that the harness hooks the sound through HD speaker wires that are then plugged into my HogTunes??
Usually you buy a "Retro Radio" kit that makes everything "Plug and Play." The multi pin connector has the pins that take it to the speakers. Is this what you are calling the "harness?" If so, everything is in the multi pin connector. it was pretty easy for me to hook up. I did it without to many bad words under my breath.
The Hog tunes are a great addition. I switched out my stock radio for the Sony 5710 and love it. It is much better. May want to get a splash guard for it but they are on back order right now at Biketronics. i am waiting for mine.
I did the install last month. Everything is plug and play. It takes about 45 min for the whole thing. When you go to put the Radio itself into the bracket make sure you follow the intructions on the angle to hold the radio as you put it in. Plug the speaker leads to the Hogtunes the thumb control pin into the back of the radio and your in business.

In my reply to you, I said you would plug the Sony speaker wires direct into the speakers. I have never done a retro radio kit myself, and from the other replies to this post, it sounds like the speaker wires get hooked up through the retro radio kit. Please follow the instructions of the retro radio kit to make sure everything works as designed. If you have any questions--email me! Otherwise you can reach Biketronics at 805-777-7209---we will get you hooked up!
