I had Reckless paint the fairing and it is almost a perfect match for the bike. Only complaint I had about the fairing was that it was kind of difficult to get the mounts lined up and tightened down on the bike. Other than that the quality and paint was awesome for the money, highly recommend it.

I got the fairing with the four 5.25" speakers instead of the two 6x9"s and have been really happy with that. I'm currently running a Kenwood marine head unit, Polk MM521 speakers, and going to be installing a Soundstream PN4.520D Amp next weekend. I had a Rockford Fosgate amp and the setup sounded fantastic. With the Soundstream amps you lose FM reception so that's the only downfall. Only thing I would have done differently was install a headunit with bluetooth capabilities so I could play music off my phone. Right now I just use a USB flash drive and put all of my music on that. Overall I love the setup and can hear my music going down the interstate perfect.
Look good! I was thinking of getting a Reckless too. It seems to offer the best bang for the buck. Haven't really heard any negatives on this fairing.

Just not sure whether to get it with the stereo or without. I see on their website they have the XS fairing and a bigger one the XL. Which is better?

RoadStar, what happened with the fancy mags ??

I see you have SG wheels on, I had those on my other 2004. Looking for a rear now. I am running a SG front from 2012, I am digging it.
Man hit the wheel with some polish, it is so well worth the effort, you will be amazed.
Love that black bike ! But I am partial to old coppers.

I decided to go a different route, I think those SG wheels look better.
I'm doing a carb conversion and it's getting a new tank - all black, from a 2003 or 2005. I'll probably have to paint the fenders black, then maybe add some pinstripes and the batwing fairing.

I am going to do a batwing on the cheap, use a late model outer and mount to RK windshield and brackets.

seriously, if you were to say repaint the wheels a high gloss black and really polish the aluminum you will be amazed and happy.

Has this been done? Do you need to fabricate the brackets or can you buy them?
Isn't an outer fairing going to look a little off, without the inner fairing?

I got the fairing without the stereo installed and just installed everything myself. The only thing I had Reckless add was the splash cover so I knew the hole would be cut the correct size. I preferred to install everything myself because it gives you more flexibility in what setup you want along with the price being cheaper in the long run if you can do some simple wiring yourself.

Regarding the XS and XL fairings, I have the XS fairing. This will give you a look that is closer to the stock HD fairing compared to the XL. The XL is also a pretty big jump in price. The XS base price is only $550 compared to the XL which is $1299. Just depends on the look you like and how much you're willing to spend. But the XS I have is fantastic for the price and I highly recommend it.
