I am looking at getting the PCIII fromFUEL MOTO and i just spoke to the harley dealership and I was told that they could void warranty if the PC had a problem. Has anyone had a problems with this?

None I ever heard of. Some dealers always tell you anything like a PCIII will void warranty, but so will a SERT but they are happy to install it. Some good dealers dont play those scare tactic games and some even sell and install the PCIIIs . Good thing about a PCIII, is if you had a warranty issue, just remove it before taking it to the dealer, no way to tell it was ever even on there.

Well the unit is a 5 minute job in or out, on a 07 you would need to plug the 02 sensors back in, another 5-10 minute job, its a piece of cake.

Did they provide any specifics as too what warranty parts would be voided by installing a PCIII??

They have to prove the PCIII caused the problem.

What warranty components would the PCIII effect, motor (lean or rich), stock ecm, maybe more. Starter - the PCIII has a delay and the starter has to turn longer to start the bike which led to early failure. You eliminated the O2 cells and blah , blah, blah, broke Etc.....

If the dealer wants to they can find a loop hole in any warranty failure and blame it on the PCIII.

The PCIII should make the bike run better eliminating lean / rich that would hurt the motor.
One scenario would be if the PCIII takes out the stock ECM andthe replacment stock ECM would not be covered.

Just hide the fact you ever had a PCIII.

I dont see how a PCIII would void every wrranty part on our bikes that would normally be covered under warranty.

A PCIII only works off the stock ecm settings, if it failed (and few ever have) the bike would just revert to the stock ecm settings being sent out of the ecm.

I have an 04 Road King Classic. If it that easy to install, I don't see why I shouldn't get it.I gave the Dealership enough money. I can get the PCIII for $75 morethen thedealership remapping. Sounds like the PCII is the way to go. I am just nervous about my 3000 mile long trips and reliability. I put 20k on it with it running lean with just slip ons, so I guess this can only make it better. Thanks Again. Keep the suggestions coming.

Sounds like some greedy stealership after a SERT sale to me.

The dealer ship I talked to on the phone, wants to sell the SERT.
They said they would install a PCIII, they even sent techs out to learn how to do a dyno with the PCIII. If they can sell, Install, and tune the system I don't see why it would be a warranty issue. But if theres a way to make a buck, by voiding the warranty, they will.
