I have the Brukus lock for my backrest and tourpak... But I was just looking over the bike and realized that no matter what special lock you have whether it be brukus, H-D, or whatever. All you need is a Phillips screwdriver to remove the bolts, that the cam locks are on, from the mounting kit. Thief can take your locks and tourpak within 30 seconds.
Just to clarify, I am not talking about the screws that hold the cam locks to the backrest or TP bracket, but the bolts that the attachments rest on and lock to.
Does anybody make a special bolt or cover that goes over the bolts on the detachable mounting kit to prevent this? I know most people don't really worry about it, but I just was staring at my bike and it got me thinking. Paranoid??? Nah... Curious??? Yes.. I plan on removing my attachments when I stop at hotels anyways.

I believe they are star bolts that have to be torqued to a certain spec. If a thief can break loose those bolts with a simple screwdriver, he can have the parts because without a weapon his strength would be too much for me to defend.
You are correct.. They are torx head bolts. my bad... Either way, locktite is not designed to keep bolts in forever, but rather keep them from loosening due to vibration.
I'm in the same boat as you....and all toll we are talking $1000+ dollars. BUT.....I'd have a hard time taking the damn thing in and out so often at hotel or the like.
The weight and the damage/scratch/scuffing that would occur.
It sucks but for $1000+ I will carry it in every time. It is only going to be used on long trips. Making a trip to Texas this spring and shipping the backrest and clothes before I go, so when I get there, I can resume street glide mode.
My 13' RG came with the 4 point docking HW installed but I think if I ever get a tourpack, I will install it with the non-detachable rack. Used to be that nobody touched a man's motorcycle - not the case anymore. SOB's will steal your **** right outside in the parking lot.

Dan,
Have you ever considered polishing this little doo hickey?
Can definitely polish. It is stainless. Too small a piece to chrome and still allow for tolerance in fitting. Thanks for asking. Would be interesting to know how many others would be interested in this. I made them black to blend in with the black cams.
