Man, I guess it's really not in the cards for me to have a CVO style rear fender on this bike! .
maybe it's karma telling you that if you wanted a cvo style, you should have gone with the cvo fender
seriously, sorry man. i've had **** disappear in shipping before. it sucks big time, esp. when they tell you that you have to wait another month or so before you can start the claim process. mf'er, it should have been here two weeks ago, if it's lost or stolen, you think it's gonna magically show up in another month?
i sold a set of shocks one time to someone out in california. for some reason they kept bouncing back and forth between two cities, neither of which was really very close to the final destination. very frustrating to pull up the tracking info and see them back and forth to the same cities day after day....
Unfortunately at an overseas military address FedEx and UPS aren't options that are any where near affordable, USPS Priority Mail is the "best" method. I've been doing shipments this way for many years and have only run into a few problems overall...this time it's just ridiculous though. TopShop is stepping up and getting another fender ready for me and shipping it out. Fantastic service there from them. Let's see what the 'ole USPS can do to this one!
Having something shipped in the states and then having something shipped Priority mail to Korea is a whole different ball game. I use to wait months to get large items sent to me when I was stationed in Italy. I would have waited until you returned state side before messing with any of this myself, are you sticking your bike in with house hold goods when you move back or shipping like a POV?
Yeah, I understand there's a difference getting stuff shipped to Korea. I've been doing it for about 24 years now as I've been a US gov contractor here for that long so waiting for my "tour" to end and getting this done in the USA wasn't an option for me.
Ordered a computer part online when I was stationed in Korea (2000ish) and it took over a month. Upon arrival, it was fried...probably b/c they threw it on a "slow boat to China" (literally) and the static zapped chips into submission. Ended up ordering an entire PC which arrived within a week (air) unscathed.
I'm guessing your fender's on the same boat my PC part rode to Far East...=8^)
Did you ever get your fender? Mine came last week, UPS screwed it up by shipping it to the wrong address to start with. It also had a little minor damage from shipping. I started to send it back but ended up just repairing it, I just finished installing it last night. Let us know when you get your's.
nope, has never arrived. UPSP is still showing processed in SD. TopShop has already arranged to get me a new one ready but I've asked them to hold off as I'm now going to be moving back to the USA in a couple months. I'll just handle it then.
