So I'm convinced I'm going to do at least an air filter and slip ons along with a tuner to my RK. The only thing I'm uncertain about is the headers.
Power isn't so much the issue but I like the idea of less engine heat. What isn't clear to me is how much less engine heat to expect from eliminating the cat assuming the bike is well tuned otherwise. Is it going to be night and day or "yeah, its a little less"?
its not really "engine" heat but its the heat at your passengers right foot and behind your leg that sees a diff w/ a head pipe. and it is aprox 10,000,000 degrees cooler lol it is a huge diff
I think the only time you notice it is idling and stopped. Any time there's air movement you don't have any issues.
The biggest drawback, in my opinion, is the yellowing of single-wall non-insulated slip-ons when put on the stock head pipe. Rineharts, as well as many others will yellow from the heat. With the cat gone, assuming you have a decent tune this will not happen.
On my RKC the difference was huge. You could fry an egg on the right side before, after did not really notice any heat. Same thing on my new Electraglide.

it is noticable while riding for the paggenger for sure. i can tell a smaill differnce as well. going from my SG w/ header to RG w/ stock head i didnt realize how great it was.

If you're going to change the intake, slipons, tune, ABSOLUTELY get rid of the CAT. you will notice a dramatic difference in the amount of heat by your right foot, (and your passenger too).
Heat difference wasn't that noticeable to me or my pass The difference in sound quality on the other hand was significantly improved luv my dresser duals
