@ Joe12RK - I called three dealers looking for new '13 Classics. Dealer #1, who is over 300 miles from me, had a Big Blue Pearl/Vivid Black one and was willing to sell it for MSRP out the door. In other words, they would eat the freight, PDI and sales taxes. Dealer #2, 180 miles away, had the identical bike to the one I bought but only offered a $2000 in-store credit and still wanted full boat for a year-old bike. Told him about dealer #1's offer and he didn't believe me. OK, bye-bye! And the dealer I bought from, 90 miles away, matched dealer #1's offer plus threw in some free shirts, cleaning supplies, a battery tender, and installed my slip-ons for free. Plus they delivered my bike free of charge. All negotiations were handled over the phone within ten minutes. Best vehicle buying experience I've ever had!
@ josame - Thanks for the tip about the bar-changing thread, I'll search it out. I'm gonna get some saddle time in with the existing bars first before condemning them though.
Woo hoo, Santa showed up today! Well maybe not Santa, but the guy from the dealership with my new Road King Classic.....

I had the S/E Street Cannons installed before delivery and they sound just right to me. A nice deep rumble but not obnoxious. Probably still a couple weeks away from being able to ride here due to all the gravel on the roads, that's the only bad part.

Nice color, that's the color my wife wanted and even have a picture of the two of with it, They got it ready for me to pick up and I told them I changed my mind and wanted the white instead
I'm also 6'2" and put a Tallboy seat on the day I bought it. It pushes me back 2 inches too. I road a couple thousand miles with the stock bars in that configuration when I replaced them with the Heritage-style bars which I pulled back. The last 25,000 miles since the switch have been ideal!
+1 on the Heritage Style bars! Best $79 I ever spent. Dealer only charged an hr labor ($65) to install. I'm 6'3" and they fit me perfect
Radman, if your dealer only charged you an hour's labor I gotta assume they didn't have to change any cables or wires? Yet when I talked to the shop foreman at my hometown dealership today he said "cables have to be changed even if you're only switching to Heritage bars". I think I'll choose to trust the folks on here first.
Beautiful bike - congrats! I have also put heritage bars on my RKC. You do not need to change cables, quick install for the dealer, I think 11/2 hours or do your self. There's a detailed step by step guide with pics on this forum. Use search.
Good catch Dynamick. I'm also a sucker for red. Enjoy your new ride!
+1 on the Heritage-Style bars. I don't have the HD, but my dealer works with a vendor that has HD templates for all their bars so I had 1 1/4" Heritage-Style bars made, as I wanted internal wiring. Very comfy for me.
I love my Heritage style bars, check into it. My mods, decatted, gutted the baffles, highway pegs, handgrips, Ultra seat for the wife's comfort, Panderosa lock on the bags, back rest, luggage rack and headlight and driving light long nacelles.
