I thought life was going to be easier. Been a collector of "standard" equipment for years. When I owned my Suzuki Intruder life was hell equipping myself with Metric stuff. Now, I find everytime I am ready to add a modification I need a larger this or a smaller that. For my Softail Custom the air cleaner cover was a dang 47 bit!!!
27 is an odd size in the automotive world, the only place I ever find them is on Jeeps. Luckily I already had a few of them in my toolbox, so I wasn't cursing the ME's at HD. I do replace some of the Torx stuff with stainless phillips hardware as I work on the bike.
Yeah, they're made in China, but what's not now days. I've had nothing but good service out of every tool I've bought there, and many come with a limited lifetime warranty. Plus, their cheap enough to buy again if you have too.
I even found a medium size pipe expander for $7.99 to open up the slightly bent muffler on my Rinehart TD's. Worked like a charm.
Hey BiggestDawg, based on your note I went back to NAPA, this time asked for a T27 and didn't specify 3/8 drive. They had ONE for a 1/4 drive, soI snatched it up; $5.42, no warranty. But I needed one.Thanks.
I think Sears Craftsman has a set of torx that are on like a folding knife type set-up. You fold out the size you need, etc. Check them out...
PS: I just checked online and they do have a set of socket type ones that includes that size, i think it was around $27 for the set of 12 in 1/4" and 3/8" drive...
