Default handling with 16" apes

Just got a 2005 Road Glide 2 days ago.
It already has 10" or 12" apes on it and handles fine.
I want to install 16" apes .

Will I have any handling or performance problems after I do?

I'm sure it all depends on how tall you are and your reach. If your alittle guy with stubby arms then I'd say you might have a problem turning the bike.

The16"s are for you. This is not an issue with the 16" bars. Of course there are no handling issues, other than being higher. BTW, I went from FXRP (10.5" rise) bars on the Road Kingto the 16" Wild One bars, very happy.

My opinion is that if you ride without a windshield, go with 18" Wild One bars. If, like myself, you like the windshield, 16"s are for you. You wouldn't like having the grips so far back to prevent contact of the 18"s with the windshield. This is not an issue with the 16" bars. Of course there are no handling issues, other than being higher. BTW, I went from FXRP (10.5" rise) bars to the 16" Wild One bars, very happy.
well I could always angle them towards me to match the angle of the forks if they hit the ferring or windsheild right?
It shouldnt be a problem since i have a shorty windshield.

i guess i need to find a road glide with 16" and 18" and sit on it, to see what the best length would be.

I'm 6'2" and run fat 18's. They are tilted slightly forward but I can still run a quick detach windshield. It is a perfect fit and very comfortable and I'll stay on the road all day.
