Default Ipod Interface

Ive been debating on getting the iPod interface installed on my 2013 SG the same one that comes with the CVOs. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with them and what they think of them. Worth the money?

Thanks

I have the HD one and it works fine with a few glitches here and there. With out fail at least once per trip I have to disconnect the iPod and reconnect as it freezes up. I use a year old iPod nano.

Sorry for my ignorance but why do you need an iPod interface.....my SG HD radio has an Aux jack that you can plug it into. Does the interface charge the iPod and show music info on the screen other than what is already there? BTW Drew........nice avatar, makes it difficult to concentrate on the questions.

All that and you can move through the songs with the hand controls.

Yes, and it allows you to control the iPod with handle bar controls and soft buttons on the HK head unit. You can also keep the iPod/iPhone in the saddlebag rather than hanging on the bars.

The Iron Cross also charges the device - the HD unit may as well, but I am not certain

I went with the HD unit and yes it charges. The module does not come with a long enough cable to reach the saddlebag, the saddlebag kit (separate purchase) comes with extension cable. Because my tourpak is not quick detach, I ran the cable there and iPod is in the trunk. I also have the NIM for the Zumo 660 and they share a wire harness - having installed the NIM first, the iPod was simple to plug into the extra plug on the harness and both work as advertised.
