Aw come on - you should know better than to ask! I just read a thread in which someone stated that as the front brake doesn't get much use he could get away with only one rotor. So on that basis, fronts should last forever!

Just replaced my front pads yesterday at 35K miles. They still had half the pad material left, but I was replacing my old warped rotors and threw the new pads on as well. Rears still look very good.

2012 SG , Most of my riding is 2 up and all back roads. Just ruined a brand new Arlen Ness rotor yesterday. Only 9000 miles on mine and the right side outer pad was a little thin . Thought they had about 10,000 left but it was just thin enough that the caliper rubbed on the rotor. $300 dollar lesson learned.

I got about 32k on the stock front pads. I honestly haven't even looked at the rear. I never use rear brakes so theoretically they should be fine. Maybe the next time I'm changing the rear tire I'll have a look....

Seriously? I am the cheapest son of a bitch in the valley, but I would gladly lay waste to brake pads over tranny and drive train any day!!

11k as a daily driver in Los Angeles traffic and the fronts are about 50%, looking good, but just replaced the rear pads a couple weeks ago. Couldn't see the indicators anymore.. almost to the metal. Thought I'd get 15k out of them, but nope.

It is nothing short of amazing to me how so many riders have told me that they never or hardly ever use their rear brakes to slow down. They must be draggin their heels. Maybe they don't ride much?

I replaced front and rear late last summer with approx 75000kms on my 09 Classic.I drive mostly highway and always solo. The fronts were down there but the rears could have run another 20k or so.

Nothing surprises me where brakes and Harleys are concerned! I bought my first one new in 1974 and the owners manual advised to use the rear brake routinely and the front only in emergencies. I recently read a post here on HDF in which one member said that as he rarely uses his front brake could he get rid of one of his two front rotors?! Takes all sorts.....
