Did it last year and I gotta say it's way cool. Fredericksburg is nice and old but really a tourist trap. I went to the naval museum there and it was great. Wondered why a Naval museum in the middle of Texas? Now I know why.
Mid week it's fairly quiet and saw a lot of animals so anyone thinking of doing this be careful. I guess the deer and HUGH rabbits hid on the weekends.
I'm going to do it again this year only this time a weekend so everything is open. It also gets hot especially Big Bend NP.
Yep, this is one ride you won't forget. Thanks Texas!
Nimitz's hometown. The museum was his grandfather's hotel.
Careful on these roads at night. More deer than you can shake a stick at.
You need to have breakfast at the lost Maples Cafe in Utopia.
Lots of great roads out here besides the sisters. If you like single lane roads... sometime check out little Blanco river road to Crabapple road. There's some great roads between 83 and 16 west of Enchanted rock. Willow City loop for wildflowers is going to be amazing this year with all the rain just watch out for washed out roads.
That looks like a beautiful ride. How was the weather?
The weather was great Thursday and Friday. 70* and a little cloudy. Saturday was foggy early and then rain. Sunday morning it was cool but bearable.
As posted night riding is not advised due to the over abundance of deer.
Love the 3 Sisters. Lucky enough to only live about an hour away so I visit frequently.
I'd rather ride them during the week when I can. Find that on the weekends you get a lot of the Moto GP wanabe's on their souped up crotch rockets zooming by you bofore you even get a chance to see them.
Favorite stop when I'm there is the Bent Rim Grill & Frio Canyon Motorcycle Stop for lunch and a couple of beverages before heading home.
