I'm 5`6" with a 28" inseam and 24" thighs. I went super narrow and forward 1". No problems with tank-nut encounters. Also had them put in the seat heaters. The other thing was changing out to ohlins from stock rear shocks. Sits lower and 1000 times better ride. Howard at motorcycle metal really did a great job.
Would you recommend going any further forward? I'm trying to get out of buying new handlebars! lol
I have an appointment on Tuesday afternoon with Mean City Cycles to get the Super Narrow modification done to my 2014 Ultra Classic Electra Glide seat by riding from Clayton, NC to Mean City Cycles.
I will ride up there on Monday afternoon and get a motel and then ride to their shop the next day to see about getting the seat modified to fit in a way that will make it ride better.
I am looking forward to how it rides after the seat modification…….
My current plan is to mail it in. I would love to ride in. Still debating it.
I am relatively tall at 6 ft. but have a shorter inseam and longer torso. Also came from a Softail Deluxe which has a pretty low set. I had MCC do the super narrow on my 2014 Ultra Limited with no change in forward/backward and works well for me. I was flat footed with stock but now plenty of knee bend. If you end up over at Waugh's on a nice day soon, let me know and I'll ride over from Culpeper and let you try it if that'll help.

That's awesome man! I hope it goes well and they can get you riding comfortably. Do you have any problems with your reach to the handlebars? Planning on having them move you forward?

I'll definitely let you know. Thanks for the input! I usually ride over to Shenandoah but occasionally visit Waugh. Be safe man!

The reach on my stock handlebars are about 1"-2" shorter than I would like as far as the pullback and about 2"-3" shorter in height (would like around 10" - 11" tall") than I would prefer. The Harley reduced reached handlebars seemed pretty good, but I wanted them a little taller.
I decided to do the seat modification first and then see where I am at in relation to the handlebars and will not have the seat modified to move me forward, and even if the seat modification will be enough, or if I might have to change the rear shocks and front springs. I may look into what handlebars to buy once I see what the change in the seat does for me.
I figured the seat modification would be the cheapest and easiest route first and then go from there if needed.

Reason: Clarification
You out weigh me some but we are close to the same. I had Allen do my seat. It was the best seat I have ever had.
On a street glide I would have him drop it 1 to 2 inches, and only a inch forward with the factory seat, If you are using a cvo style seat then I would go 1.5 inches.
With your back condition do not leave out a back rest.
