Default Security Pager Receiver

I'm thinking of getting a Pager Receiver for the Smart Siren II,

Harley offers two different models, is one better than the other???
Do they work well?
Are they worth it?

Battery-Powered Pager Receiver II Security System -91660-06
$59.00

Rechargeable Pager Receiver II Security System-91672-07
$71.00

I bought the HD battery powered pager in August when I purchased my 2014 Limited. My reason was, you can always take an extra battery for the pager with you. It works good. In September I was staying at a 3rd floor in a hotel. The bike was approximately 500 feet away and had my friend got on my bike with the pager on and it went off instantly. You need the siren module also for it to work. Having it gives me a little bit better piece of mind.

I'm getting the battery powered pager, because I like being able to replace the battery. Once a rechargeable battery goes bad, it's gone.

I had the battery version when I had my 2006 RG. It came with the bike as I bought it used. I never used it nor did I even check to see if it worked.

I have this thing called insurance so if you really want my bike, go ahead take it. If I catch you stealing/screwing with my bike I would just shoot your *** dead....LOL

Those pagers are a personal choice. If you feel it is worth your while then go for it.

I too have the battery powered unit. This question has been asked several times and like new pipes, everyone has an opinion that works for them. I didn't want to carry a charger around when I travel. The thing is only on when I'm in an unknown area or known sketchy areas and other than that it's off. I bought an extra battery and have it in a little plastic container and stored it on my bike.

Frankly, the unit is a bit kludgey if you ask me, but it does work, we've all tested it. I have however been in buildings (my work, some hotels) where it seems I'm close enough but the concrete, steel, and whatever diminishes the signal so much it can't reach the pager. But as mentioned, you have to have the siren so that's the back up plan I guess.

I also have the battery powered one for the reasons stated above.

I have the rechargeable one and love it. I only charge it about once every 2 weeks and haven't had it die yet. It gives me peace of mind when I park downtown for work.

I bought the rechargeable one and only used it for a road trip last year. Don't feel like lugging it around any other time. Drawback is you need to keep it charged and haul the charger with you on multi day road trips, although I think if you kept it off except at night you could probably leave the charger at home. I don't have any regrets though, and I think either model is worth the piece of mind.
