I've had two 5x8' trailers with the mesh floor (the first was stolen). Both trailers I had a welding shop weld in steel plates for my tie downs. There was already a steel beam down the middle for support.

I wouldn't put MY bike on it.

But I've seen people put their scoots on less....

As others have said, the mesh won't hold the weight, After a while the mesh will give at the tires and the welds will probably brake also. Get a trailer with treated 2x6 lumber and you will be glad you did.

If you will check around with trailer sales company's you will beat that easy.
Down the street from me there is a trailer sales, I paid $800 + taxes for a 7x12 open trailer with built in tie downs with ramp, new. Rated pay load 3,300 lbs.

Really check around trailer sales are down right now. I just picked up a 7x16 v nose tandem axle w/ electric brakes for $3,300 with a 3 year warranty. Payload is 4,850 lbs.

7 feet is too short, I have a 5 by 8 with a Condor chock and it is tight, not uncomfortable but tight

you want 15" wheels if you are towing more than a few miles. Small tires burn bearings out quickly.

Hi. My name is John and I am a puss. I trailer my 2012 FLHX and 2006 FXDI twice a year totaling about 10,000 miles so far using a Country Boy 5' x 10' open trailer. I could definitely use a larger one, but I make do. I recommend putting a few hundred dollars more in and shopping local trailer builders or distributors. Get one rated at 3000lbs and with 14" or 15" wheels. Heavy wood floor is nice for support and makes it easy to mount tie down hardware and quick detach chock hardware. A tailgate reinforced with extra rails helps too.

PS, all this trailering requires frequent stops to check straps and for applications of Vagisil.

I trailer my bike occasionally as I generally like to have my bike and my wife and children with me on vacation. It's kind of hard to travel 10 hours one way with enough clothes and supplies to last 9 days with 3 - 4 people on one Harley with a solo seat. I just built a trailer to carry the bike. It's a 5X8 Aluminum deck with an Aluminum Tool box on a 3"X2" galvanized steel Frame. It has a HF wheel chock with built in 4 point d-rings. The ramps are 8' long and made from 2-12" wide aluminum extruded panels. Axle rating is 2000# GVWR. I just got back from 1,200 mile trip with no problems. Tool box carries straps, oil, covers, helmets, 2 up seat and anything you may buy. The ramps slide into a rack underneath the trailer.

As for the tsc trailer, it's not only too short and not reinforced for carrying an almost 900# bike, but it's terribly flimsy. Go to tsc and just push down on one of the front corners. You won't want your ultra on this trailer. Like some on here, I wanted a trailer "in case of" so I found a nice used 5x8 enclosed trailer with a ramp door. Nothing fancy, needed a couple of tires and an axle bearing on one side. I paid $700 for it and had about $850 in it when it was road worthy. It's only hauled the bike a couple of times in "emergencies" but it did so nicely.
